"Thank you, both. Napoleon, thank you for playing, but your guess is incorrect.  The lens was a 100-400 firmly anchored to a carbon fibre tripod.  The fireworks were about 8 miles away.  I see 7 explosions in the image, one of them…"

Thanks for that link CC, we are travelling ourselves at the moment [ in Aussie] and have had a brief look, hope to have a better one when I get home. Hi, thanks for your comment about the song "Wipeout" I am aware that the Surfaris wrote the song. I also know the Ventures also performed the song as well as the Beachboys. The version on my profile came from a pre-recorded site. I am however, not responsible for having given credit to this version and cannot change what was posted, it was recorded as by The Beachboys is all. thanks tho for writing~ Lea

Welcome to PI. Besides the competition there are many other activities offer on PI, like member's group of varies interest or start one of your own group or join in the forums, FAQs and so on.

Don't forget you can customize your profile even more, check out the "settings" which allows you to control email notification, how your profile page looks from templates etc on the PI network.

Your profile are spread out to sites like twitter and google to enhance the chances of others finding you. So don't forget to utilize your profile by uploading your best shots and even categorized them in albums etc.

Hope you enjoy the site and welcome aboard..any questions by all means get in touch with the moderators of the site which are made up of the members here on PI or myself. Most importantly, Enjoy yourself!
