"No Borders Nor Boundaries" - Where Photographers get together

Feona! This is a good record picture! It shows the wall pretty well! There is really no way to know whether the color is accurate or not - for a first effort, it's not bad! There are just some shots that you can't really be arty with - this is one of those shots!
For your learning experience, look at lots of pictures - read a good beginners' book - learn the basics! Then you'll be able to shoot photographs with some meaning that tell a story. If they're available, take a photography class, digital if you can - if not, regular photography will teach you the basics, which are important. While you're at it, look at the pictures on PI - these are some of the best pictures that you'll find anywhere, and are darn good examplea of various techniques used by most photographers today!
Welcome to Pixel Induced! Let's be friends! We can learn from each other! TTYL! :>)
Feona! What camera did you purchase 2nd hand? Did you get the owners' manual with it, or perhaps a DVD with software and a manual? Don't put your original camera down, either! I still don't own a DSLR, but I've got a megazoom with 18x, and I don't have to break my back with carrying a bag full of equipment with me. I can shoot telephoto shots and super-macro with out changing anything but a couple of settings, for best results.
I hope I wasn't too harsh with my critique of your picture! TTYL! :>)
Hi George, I now own a lumix DMC-FZ50. It has a lot more buttons than my holiday snap camera!!! It did not come with a manual but I have managed to download one so have at least some idea which end is which with the camera - the manual is 145 pages!!! so it will take a bit of time to get an idea of the camera! It is small and looks easy to use so will be a good starter camera for taking more pics. Also, nope you were not harsh with my picture you were very kind.
Cheers, Feona
