I'm in need of a new printer.  Any suggestions would be appreciated
Been looking at the Epson Stylus Photo 1400 Jet Printer or the HP Photosmart Premium TouchSmart Web All in One
Input would be welcome.

Canon Pixma Series Work Great...They Start at $89.99 American for a 3 in one...I get the Ink thru Amazon.com and save Huge!
Thanks Chris, do send me a link, I'll look into it..
I do want one that prints at least 19 inches width and prefer is use archival ink, if possible.
For large format Photographs I have had good results with the Epson. I also own the HP Photosmart Premium TouchSmart Web All in One for my business, and even though it produces nice small images it does not alway work, and the support from HP on this product leaves much to be desired.
Thanks for all your input, appreciate it.. Hubby and I went and test drove some printers this evening after getting your responses.
We came home with a HP Photosmart Web Premium C309 N-S for the office which is portable enough for printing on site work. Also test flew the Ebson 1400 which was very nice, but tomorrow I'm ordering the Ebson R1900 13x19 wide format, photo printer for delegated larger printing. Like it better than the 1400 due to printing 13 inches wide and up to 44 inches long. Like that for pano printing and prints to glossy, luster, matte, canvas and fine art papers. The work on canvas will be much easier now.
Thanks for taking the time to respond. Will let ya know how they work out.
I decided to Match my Printer with my Cameras brand name when it came to making a final purchase..I did try a HP Product but returned it because it did not work well with my Dell Computer...Canons interface works perfect... Does the HP you bought have a card reader and a usb port on the front?..Just curious...
Hi Chris, I haven't had any problem interfacing with my Dell Computers, Have two desktops and 2 laptops connected without any hassle. My one laptop has Windows 7 and thought there would be an issue but dope. All computers are interfacing fine with the wireless connection. I heard there was an issue with Vista but then again that doesn't surprise me.
Yes the HP has SC/CF card reader and USB EyeFi and direct read from the camera. Also can connect with my IPhone directly with an App. So far so good. Can print directly from the web also. Has a Fax and scanner also.
Amazing.. The new model coming out will have a detachable touch screen which can be used seperately and also be used as a Kindle, believe it or not..

Been printing several 8x10's today and the result is very impressive as compared to professionally printed one already completed. :) Been using the non High grade paper by HP so far and amazed with the detail. Can't wait to kick in the better paper now.
While the subject are photo printers, hope you don't mind me adding some input here too, especially with ink supplies..well I'm going to whether if you like it or not..lmao only kidding. ;) Oh, also depending on your main usage and budget - most cases I outsource the printing ..

I use the Epson's and has been one that really been reliable, though it's up for an upgrade really since I haven't used it for four years and sitting under my bed..no it's not my mistress..but she (printers) never complaint..lol. The r1800 and r2400 was pretty cool model for what it's worth. One of the reason is that I can utilised bulk ink easily.. ok I'm not trying to advertise anyone here but inkRepublic (www.InkRepublic.com) has been a good source in the past for me. And their CIS system have worked well. Probably will be replaced with the r3880 later once I start kicking up the photography bits and pieces back in action.. hopefully ;)

Anyone have other good source of CIS for any printers?
Thanks Joe, glad you put in your post. I've been sending my work out for printing and quite honestly tired of the not up to par attitude of some companies. I had been working with Windows Vista Operating System and it was a nightmare to get photos printed correctly. Needless to say Vista is long gone. Your recommendation for ink Republic is the third recommendation I have received for them. As soon as funding has rebounded the CIS looks like a real plus. Thanks.
Hope to get more input from other members as well.
Thanks
Hi Lea,

If you do decide to buy a printer of this sort and running a CIS. Most people forget to calibrate their monitors and their printers. If you profile your monitors and your printers while printing you'll find that what you see is almost what you print. One other thing is that on the commercial side of things, if you give them your profile they could print out the pics to your style rather than them trying to tweet it for you. I normally give them my printing profiles. Not all printing companies are the same of course, just send them an email first and see if they can cater for your needs prior of sending them the images. One of the products that I used for profiling is via Pantone just note though, it's not cheap but if you are selling your prints it's worth every cent..

Just my 2 cents worth..;)
The company I used for printing used a program online that did the profiling and unfortunately it didn't work with Vista. I haven't invested in a color calibrator as yet but it's on my Christmas list.
Was contemplating the Color Monkey now that you sent me to the link or the Spyder2. Thanks for the link and info. What calibrator do you use and prefer or suggest? At this point I can use any and all info I can pick from those who will share info. Thanks so much it is appreciated. Just getting into the printing aspect and will learn more as time goes on. I think however I do prefer dark room work! LOL
the old xtreme was pretty expensive..before the new munki.. i would just get a colormunki design thats more than enough. ;)

Darkroom was fun, just can't smoke while you in one thats all.. lol
